Why Kazikon?

Why Kazikon?
Kazikon was born out out of an urgent response to a pattern of chronic isolation observed in my clinical practice. From chaotic emergency rooms to depressed criminal jail cells, I saw one repeating trend in my client work, chronic isolation as the root cause of recurring personal and systemic conflict.

In my 3rd year of law school, I realized that as an almost attorney, my capacity to provide clinical services was becoming more and more endangered. I created Kazikon as a catch-all vehicle to meet my outstanding, unquenchable desire to do it all: provide therapy, social justice events, economic policy proposals and the future hub of pro bono legal services and legal education through Kazikon Law.
Through joy filled conversations, and collective healing spaces, Kazikon Wellness counters isolation with judgement free, emotionally safe communities. Kazikon isn't about responding to the byproducts of social isolation, Kazikon is about addressing the unresolved trauma that leads to solitary confinement. Kazikon Wellness heals the hurting heart by providing individuals with socially appropriate outlets for affection, reciprocation and compassion acceptance. Kazikon Wellness is dedicated to building relationships that sustain joy, love, and problem-solving power.

Why Kazikon? Because people need supportive love that sets free not sets bail.

During the day I work as a Mitigation Specialist for the Legal Aid Society Bronx Criminal Defense. During the evenings I am a final-year law student at City University New York School of Law. When I am not working I enjoy researching and writing about judicial policy and learning about economic policy to address wealth inequality.

I have known Sharlene, the founder of Kazikon, for a little over a year now professionally and personally, and I cannot express how helpful she has been to my growth as a human being. Not only has she helped guide me through personal turmoil including the passing of a close relative, she has helped develop my career skills in such a way that I’ve received two promotions in the span of a year being at my organization. I am proud to say that moving up in that way would have been very difficult if not impossible without Sharlene’s help. If you consider doing business with Sharlene or reaching out to her for guidance, please know that you are about to expand your life and business in a way you simply could not predict. This woman is the real deal!!! Believe me!!!
